Web and Social Media Posting

Requirements for Requests to Post Research Studies and Other Content on UF CARD Website & Social Media

We value sharing helpful content with our community while complying with all state and federal digital accessibility requirements. Please visit our Accessibility page for details.

For content not involving UF CARD, the best approach is for you to post it on your own website or social media and tag or email us so we can share it—but it must be accessible.

For content related to UF CARD, in many cases we will create and post it, and you are welcome to share.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

For us to post your content, here are our guidelines and requirements:

General Guidelines:

  • IRB Approval: An IRB approval number is required for all research studies.
  • UF Researchers: We highly suggest asking UF Studies to post to their Facebook page first, then request us to share that post. UF CTSI has recruitment consultation that you may find helpful.
  • Your Website/Social Media: Post on your website/social media and tag or notify us (this is the preferred method). We will review and share, if appropriate.
  • Our Social Media: With our director’s approval, we may post your content if you do not have a website or social media presence. See content requirements below.
  • Flyers (for print and posting on bulletin board only): If you email us a pdf or image of your flyer, we can potentially print your flyer and post it on the bulletin board in our office.
  • Accessibility Matters:
    • We enjoy sharing information that supports and informs our community.
    • To ensure that everyone can access the content we post and we are in compliance with federal law, we will only share materials that meet WCAG accessibility guidelines – https://www.ada.gov/resources/2024-03-08-web-rule/
    • If there is any question about compliance, we will err on the side of caution and decline to share the post.
    • For guidance on creating accessible social media content, we encourage you to visit the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) resource: Content Creation: Social Media – https://www.section508.gov/create/social-media/.
    • Please also note that our logo may only be used with prior permission. Any request to use our logo must include materials that meet accessibility standards. If you have any questions, please email card-info@ufl.edu.
    • Thank you for helping us keep our communications accessible for all and in compliance with federal law.
    • Ensure your content complies with WCAG accessibility guidelines. We will not share content that does not meet these guidelines. For more information, please see the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) webpage, Content Creation: Social Media.
