Building Strong Readers: An Introduction to UFLI Foundations
|
This session will provide an introduction to UFLI Foundations, an explicit and systematic program developed by the University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI). UFLI Foundations is structured to introduce students to the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for proficient reading. The program follows a scope and sequence designed to ensure that students systematically acquire skills and learn to apply these skills with automaticity and confidence. Behavior Strategies that Work
|
For this series of sessions, participants will learn strategies for managing the spectrum of behaviors observed in children with autism. The sessions are appropriate for educators and caregivers of children with ASD. Many of the strategies that will be addressed are appropriate for individuals of all ages, but the sessions focus on children between the ages of 4 and 12 years. UF CARD Golf Clinic FALL 2023
|
This golf clinic is designed for all types of golfers – beginners, novices, and experienced. Weekly group instruction will be provided for up to 8 participants by Scott Hampton, golf professional and Director of the University of Florida Golf Course. UF CARD staff will be on site to assist at each lesson. The clinic is open to UF CARD constituents 18 and older. Space is limited to 8 participants on a first-come first-served basis. Teaching Students with Extensive Support Needs
|
This 9-part training series is designed for professionals who work with students with significant learning and/or behavioral needs. Participants will learn how to assess, teach, and evaluate progress for students across all domains. Sessions will take place on Thursdays from 4-5:30 via zoom. Certificates of attendance will be available for those who attend at least 6 of the 9 sessions; attendance at all 9 sessions is highly encouraged. Follow-up support from a CARD staff person will be available upon request after the completion of the series.

31st Annual Statewide CARD Conference
CARD hosts the largest autism-related conference in the state of Florida and is rapidly gaining recognition throughout other states and countries. It will feature numerous presenters who will link autism research and autism intervention for 900-1300 professionals and parents of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Registration will open September 1, 2023.
