Training Description

Compassion fatigue is a term that describes the physical, emotional, and psychological impact of helping others — often through experiences of stress or trauma. Join us for this informative session to learn more about compassion fatigue. What is it? How do I know if I am experiencing compassion fatigue? What can I do to prevent compassion fatigue, and what can I do when I am experiencing it?

Training Objectives

  • Learners will define compassion fatigue.
  • Learners will give examples of symptoms of compassion fatigue.
  • Learners will describe ways to address compassion fatigue.

About the Presenter

Laura Klock is currently employed by the School Board of Levy County, Laura serves as one of the Homeless and Foster Care Liaisons, working tirelessly to ensure that every student has access to the resources they need for a brighter future. In addition to this crucial role, Laura also serves as the SEDNET Coordinator for six counties and school districts, exemplifying a dedication to enhancing the well-being of students and families. Laura has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fostering positive change, creating connections, and making a lasting impact on the lives of those she serves. Her efforts in the community showcase a deep understanding of the importance of collaboration and advocacy.
