University of Florida Performing Arts (UFPA) and UF Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UF CARD) are collaborating to offer UF CARD constituents (7 years old through high school age) an opportunity to participate in a dance master class with members of the Paul Taylor Dance Company.
NO DANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! This is about fun and movement!
UPDATE: Siblings are welcome to join in!
This Master Class taught by Christina Lynch Markham aims to present the Paul Taylor style and a sample of Taylor repertoire in order for participants to encounter signature movements that have influenced modern dance as we know it.
Christina Lynch Markham grew up in Westbury, New York and attended Hofstra University. During college she also trained at The Taylor School, and attended the Company’s Summer Intensive Program. After graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2004, she danced with the Amy Marshall Dance Company, Stacie Nelson and The Dance Theater Company. She joined Taylor 2 in Summer 2008, and made her debut with the Paul Taylor Dance Company in Summer 2013.
Dancers should wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to remove their shoes as only bare feet or socks are allowed on the rubberized floor in the gym area.
