Attention Educators! PEPSA (Partnership for Effective Programs for Students with Autism) applications are due Friday, September 29th.

The Partnership Program is an initiative to support educators and schools’ professional development and training, designed to enhance the educational program for students
with ASD. As a result of the program, the Statewide Centers for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) have joined together with hundreds of Florida educators, providing training and technical assistance to develop and implement evidence based and effective practices within educational programs for students with ASD.

What are the criteria to participate in PEPSA?
First Year Applicants
-Applicants must be teachers or school staff in the state of Florida who provide instruction to a student or students with ASD within a general or special education program.
-There must be a commitment by the teacher or school staff to the enhancement of practices or school components that are provided to students with ASD.
Second Year Leadership Applicants
-In order to participate in the second year leadership track, applicants are required to have successfully completed one year of the Partnership Program as a first year participant and must receive a nomination from their assigned CARD staff.
-Applicants must be teachers or school staff in the state of Florida who provide instruction to a student or students with ASD within a general or special education program.
-There must be a commitment by the teacher or school staff to the enhancement of practices or school components that are
provided to students with ASD.

How to apply?
-Interested educators should complete the application and include the approval signature of their principal/supervisor by the last Friday in September.
-Applications can be found at: http://doepartnership.fmhi.usf.edu/process.html
-The completed application should be submitted to their regional CARD Site (see contact information on back).
-A CARD Committee will review the applications and select the Partnership Program Participants.

Professional Development Opportunities & Events
In partnership with CARD, PEPSA offers workshops and training events designed to build the professional development capacity of Florida educators to meet the educational needs of students with ASD.
This includes:
-Statewide workshops hosted by regional CARD sites
-Summer training events
-Pre-Conference Day for Educators at Annual CARD Conference with nationally recognized experts in ASD

In-service Components
Educators completing the Partnership Program or attending professional development events have an opportunity to apply for in-service components toward re-certification.
